License Agreement & Policies

Students living in DeWolfe summer housing are subject to the terms of the Housing Contract and the rules and regulations in the Harvard College Handbook for Students 2016-2017 as well as the specific summer policies outlined below:

  1. Any student requiring specific accommodations due to medical needs or a disability should contact Brian Boughton, Manager of Housing Operations at collegehousing@fas.harvard.edu.

  2. No changes to a license (e.g., adding or changing the names of the licensee(s)) can be made after the offer has been accepted.

  3. Submission of a housing application is not an approval or guarantee of summer housing. Should a housing offer be extended to a student, they are agreeing to accept it, including assuming full financial responsibility for the entirety of the license period.

  4. All DeWolfe Street facilities are smoke-free, including inside the building, balconies and within 25 feet of any entrance.

  5. All furniture within the apartment must remain inside the apartment.

  6. Bicycles are not permitted to be locked on the fence around the building perimeter or in any common space. If you would like access to the bike storage room, please contact Harvard University Housing at 617-495-8340.

  7. No candles, incense, or other items with an ember or open flame are permitted.

Key Pick-Up & Return

Students who have received a summer housing offer may pick up their apartment key between the hours of 9 AM - 5 PM on or after Monday, June 5 at the Harvard University Housing Property Management Office.

In order to obtain an apartment key, each licensee must present a money order or cashier's check, payable to Harvard University Housing & yourself, in the amount of fifty ($50.00) dollars that will serve as a key deposit and their Harvard University identification card at time they pick up their key. Failure to make the money order payable to both HUH & yourself will prevent you from cashing it once returned. This money order or cashier's check will be returned upon the return of the originally issued key at the conclusion of the license period. Key pick-up & return is only available Monday-Friday (excluding holidays) between the above hours - please plan accordingly, including making any necessary adjustments to travel plans or work schedules. Keys will not be issued to anyone other than the licensee - each licensee must pick up and return their own key. Money orders and cashier's checks will only be returned to the licensee appearing on the document and will not be mailed. Any licensee who does not return their key by 5 PM on Friday, August 4 will forfeit their key deposit.

Mail & Packages

Students who wish to receive mail at DeWolfe during the summer months may request a mailbox key at the time they pick up their apartment key. There is no charge for a mailbox key, however students are encouraged to return the key at the end of the license period.

Note: Packages delivered to DeWolfe cannot be signed for. It is strongly recommended that you coordinate delivery for when you are on-site to receive packages and/or utilize a carrier's package tracking service to monitor your delivery.  The College and/or HUH are not responsible for packages that are lost or stolen.
