As Associate Director of Student Organizations and Resources, JR serves as an advisor and resource for students, faculty, and external constituents, supports student organizational development, and creates and manages a collection of resources and event spaces at Harvard College.
JR provides support for the development, oversight, and assessment of the college’s student organization community, student organization resources and event spaces. With the help of the SOCH coordinator, SOCH graduate assistant and intern, JR helps coordinate the college’s event spaces, student organization management and development which supports the intellectual, social, and personal development of students outside the classroom. This includes the management of a diverse portfolio of over 450 Independent Student Organizations (ISO), and offices that sponsor Sponsored Student Organizations (SSO) and operations of the SOCH and the Cambridge Queen’s Head.
Moving to New England from the South as a young boy, JR spends his time enjoying the local culinary scene with his wife. When not meeting and helping students with their events you can find him around Boston playing sports, or enjoying the nightlife of the city. A self-proclaimed Spike Ball Pro, most of the time JR is just looking for the brutal New England winters to end so he can enjoy the outdoors. His door is always open, but be warned you may leave with a hankering for Yerba Mate.
