Assistant Dean of Harvard College
Madeleine Currie, Ed.D.

As Resident Dean of First-Year Students for Oak Yard, I oversee Canaday and Thayer.  I have a doctorate in Human Development from Harvard and a bachelor’s degree in comparative literature from the University of Chicago.  Before becoming a dean, I oversaw research on refugee and immigrant family life, and the mental health of young adults.  Before that I taught junior high and high school. I have done other types of work on behalf of children, including serving as a guardian ad litem, a special education surrogate parent, and a foster parent.  Of the many things I love about working as a dean, the fact that every day is different is a favorite. Please schedule an appointment with me any time about matters related to your experience at the College – I would love to talk with you.
