Reporting Hazing or Hazing-like Activities
Individuals who have witnessed or experienced hazing or hazing-like activities are encouraged to reach out for support. The following methods of reporting such activities are available depending on the nature of what transpired.
1. Report hazing activities that meet the definition of hazing in Massachusetts General Laws (MGL) to the Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) or the Cambridge Police Department (CPD):
2. If it is not clear whether an activity constitutes hazing, or there is concern even if the activity doesn’t meet the definition of hazing in the MGL, reports may be made to the Office of Student Life. The OSL is committed to improving the student experience and works to address issues of hazing and inappropriate new member activities.
Please note that the OSL will treat reports with appropriate sensitivity; however, depending upon the nature and context of the activity reported, the OSL may need to share the information or take appropriate action based on Harvard policy or law.
